The Special Olympics Illinois Tribute Park is located adjacent to the Special Olympics Illinois headquarters building at 605 E. Willow Street in Normal. If approaching from Veteran’s Parkway, turn west on Ft. Jesse Road, which becomes Willow St. at the railroad tracks, leading you past Special Olympics Illinois headquarters directly to Illinois State University. ISU is the site of Special Olympics Illinois Summer Games and the State Basketball Tournament. Visitors and residents of Normal will see the beautifully landscaped Tribute Park from Willow Street. The Athlete's Entry Plaza features a 3-foot bronze dedication plaque surrounded by bricks. Eventually, these bricks – and the rest of the bricks in the park – will be engraved with the names of Special Olympics Illinois athletes who are supporting the park and the fund for future generations.
