The athletes of Special Olympics Illinois have shown the world what they have been able to achieve with hard work and determination. They've made a difference in their lives and in the lives of coaches, volunteers and fellow athletes.

The glory of the Special Olympics athletes is dramatized by a life size bronze statue that is located in the center of the athlete plaza.

Behind the statue is a dramatic water wall on black granite flanked by two walls displaying the athlete's oath: "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt."

The bricks throughout the Tribute Park are reserved for Special Olympics Illinois athletes only. Their support of the park will leave a permanent record of an athlete's participation in Special Olympics.
